5 Overvalued Wide Receivers for 2021 (Potential Busts)
Over my years playing fantasy football, I’ve grown away from the term “bust.” On the one hand, it feels disrespectful to players to slap a label on them like that when they haven’t played a snap this season and are infinitely better at their job than I will ever be at anything I attempt to do in my life. Secondly, I don’t think it really captures the essence of why we might be avoiding said player in fantasy drafts. Players are rarely pure “busts,” but more often than not the reality of their on-field play and statistics don’t live up to pre-draft expectations.
More Overvalued Players: QB | RB | TE
This is why I think moving forward I’m personally going take a page out of Parks and Rec character Tom Haverford’s playbook and look at players not as “busts,” but as players with too many “oh no-nos” for me to get into a committed fantasy football relationship with. Volume concerns? That’s an oh no-no. Shoddy quarterback play? Oh, no-no. You get the point. The five wideouts below all come with too many oh no-nos for me to draft them at their current ADP, which is why you’re about to read about them and their worrisome oh no-nos. You’re welcome to feel differently. You may even have different standards for oh no-nos. But for me, I will not be drafting any of these players at their current costs. Let’s find out why.
