Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Week 14: Huntley Huge if No Lamar
If you happened to have listened to The Most Accurate Podcast last week, you’d have heard my mini-rant on the state of the quarterback position. We’ve lost so many mid-tier passers due to injury or them flaming out (e.g., Trey Lance, Russell Wilson, etc.) that it’s shrunk our streaming pool.

There are 14 quarterbacks with a rostership greater than 80% on Yahoo! leagues. And we just lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the season, and Lamar Jackson’s status is uncertain. Streaming the position hasn’t been easy, but last week worked in our favor. So I’ve bumped up the minimum rostership threshold to 50.0% to keep this piece actionable, and I’ve got a few more picks for Week 14.
Week 13 Results
Type | Player | FPTS | Rank |
---|---|---|---|
Top Play | Mike White | 17.5 | 9th |
Deep | Taylor Heinicke | 17.6 | 8th |
Deep | Kenny Pickett | 13.3 | 20th |
Deep | Marcus Mariota | 10.4 | 25th |
Deep | Andy Dalton | 13.3 | 21st |
Thorough | Jared Goff | 21.6 | 4th |
I walked away from my desk after White threw an interception on his third attempt of the game. I thought the curse of my top picks continued for another week. White threw another in their comeback attempt but rushed into relevancy for the week. What’s better is a random performance from a low-rostered quarterback didn’t catch me by surprise. The decisions aren’t much easier this week, but I’ve got a few to target on the waiver wire.

Jared Goff (Lions) vs. Vikings
The Sun God works wonders. Even on his quarterback. With Amon-Ra St. Brown healthy and on the field, Jared Goff has a 0.20 EPA per attempt. For reference, Jalen Hurts (0.22) and Joe Burrow (0.21) aren’t too far off the mark. St. Brown’s presence makes this easier for Goff and the entire offense.
Detroit averages 35.6 yards per drive, with their sophomore receiver ravaging defenses. We didn’t see much from Jameson Williams in his debut, but they flexed their depth on Sunday with D.J. Chark getting his revenge on the Jaguars for 98 scoreless yards. Regardless, the receiving options (from St. Brown to D'Andre Swift) make the offense appealing with the value intersection at Goff. Minnesota (19.4 aFPA, 27th) may have hung on to win two close contests over the last two weeks, but their defense isn’t one to avoid.
The Vikings’ secondary is 22nd in EPA per dropback allowed since their Week 8 bye. You’d think going against Josh Allen (QB7 in Week 10) would skew the numbers, but we’ve got Taylor Heinicke throwing for two touchdowns against them. Mac Jones scorched them for 382 yards only two weeks ago. It’s a divisional rematch, but Goff will be at home in a game with a 51.5-point total making him the top streaming option for Week 14.
