Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Week 6: Daniel Jones Is Good Again

Quarterback Streaming Week 6

Week 5 brought some gaudy passing numbers. Kirk Cousins threw for 509 yards and four touchdowns. Joe Burrow threw for 392 yards and five touchdowns. In that same Bengals and Ravens game, Lamar Jackson threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns. In total, there were nine quarterbacks who threw for at least 300 yards in Week 5.

The Chiefs, Vikings, Rams, and Dolphins will all be on a bye in Week 6. That means fantasy managers who have been rostering Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold might need to hit the waiver wire for a streaming alternative.

For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season progresses and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

To provide advice you can implement, candidates for streaming must be rostered in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Week 5 Recap

Our big hit for Week 5 was Joe Flacco, who started in place of the injured Anthony Richardson (oblique). He picked apart the Jaguars, completing 33 of 44 pass attempts for 359 yards and three touchdowns to finish as QB4. He has thrown five touchdown passes since coming on in relief of Richardson in Week 4. As good as Flacco has been, he could return to a backup role with Richardson hoping to make his return in Week 6.

The biggest disappointment of the week had to be Deshaun Watson, who couldn’t capitalize on a favorable matchup against the Commanders. He finished with 125 passing yards and one touchdown. He has not thrown for more than 196 yards in a game this season and is averaging just 4.8 yards per pass attempt. It will take a lot of quarterbacks to go down across the league for Watson to find his way back into streaming consideration.

Derek Carr (Saints) vs. Buccaneers

Carr wasn’t exactly great against the Chiefs on Monday Night Football, throwing for just 165 yards. He did have two touchdown passes, along with one interception. It marked the third time over five games that he has thrown at least two touchdown passes, which has vaulted him into streaming consideration.

Carr is still available in 33% of Yahoo leagues. He might need to throw a lot in this matchup with the Buccaneers scoring an average of 25.4 points per game. The Buccaneers rank 31st in aFPA to quarterbacks, making this matchup even more appealing to stream Carr. However, he did leave Monday’s game with an oblique injury, so you’ll need to monitor his status throughout the week to see if he will be taking the field.
