Fantasy Football Recap Week 5: 17 Things You Need To Know
Week 5 began extra early with the return of breakfast football. The Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets kicked off the European side of the NFL International slate in London. It also ended extra late after Sunday Night Football was delayed nearly 90 minutes due to lightning in the Pittsburgh area. There was plenty of excitement. D’Andre Swift had a second straight game over 100 total yards. Rhamondre Stevenson responded to being benched with a 33-yard touchdown run. Joe Flacco has played seven straight games throwing multiple touchdown passes. Unfortunately, there was another rash of injuries. The season’s first bye week wreaked havoc on fantasy lineups. With so much to sort out, there is no time to waste.
Top Players
Garrett Wilson opened up some sleepy eyes with his wonders across the pond. He posted a career-high with 13 receptions. Wilson tallied 101 yards receiving and a touchdown as the Jets fell short in their efforts to chase down the Minnesota Vikings.
D.J. Moore had the quintessential revenge game against his former mates. Facing Carolina for the first time, Moore had five receptions for 105 yards and a pair of receiving scores.
Joe Burrow led an aerial assault against division rival Baltimore. He threw five touchdown passes in a game the Bengals led at halftime. Burrow totaled 392 passing yards but threw a costly fourth-quarter interception that led to the game-tying field goal by the Ravens who ultimately won in overtime.

Ja'Marr Chase was the biggest beneficiary of Burrow’s dominant day. The pass-catcher hauled in 10 throws for 193 yards and a pair of end zone appearances.
Pop Players
Tank Bigsby led all running backs in PPR scoring. The second-year back set career highs in attempts, rushing yards, and touchdowns as he carried 13 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns. He added a 28-yard reception on his only target.
Tucker Kraft had his first career multi-touchdown game as the Packers topped the Rams on Sunday. Hauling in four catches for 88 yards, Kraft led the team in receiving. The second-year tight end is emerging as a weapon in the Green Bay offense.

Brian Thomas Jr. streaked away on an 85-yard touchdown in the second quarter as Jacksonville earned their first win of the year. The rookie receiver has been red hot of late, catching 11 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns over his last two games.
Caleb Williams topped 300 yards passing for the second time in three weeks. The top overall pick completed 20 of 29 attempts for 304 yards and two passing scores. Williams added 34 yards rushing as the Bears outmatched Carolina.
Darius Slayton took advantage of an increased role with Malik Nabers sidelined. Slayton caught eight passes for 122 yards. He also scored his first touchdown of the season. The Giants topped Seattle for their second win of the season.
Flop Players
Sam Darnold left fantasy managers feeling flat. After throwing for 11 touchdowns in his first four games, Darnold could muster just a single score for the fans in England. He did, however, turn the ball over twice for a second consecutive game.
Breece Hall continued to underachieve in Week 5. After only 18 total yards last week, Hall was able to muster 37 against the Vikings. Hall is averaging just three yards per carry this season.
Keenan Allen was quiet again. Having seemingly gone to Chicago to disappear, the veteran receiver had three catches for 33 yards against a woeful Carolina secondary. Depressingly, 33 yards is a season-high for Allen.
Drop Players?
Aaron Jones sustained a hip injury in the second quarter in London. He was seen limping on the sideline. Jones did not return to the game.
De'Von Achane exited the Dolphins’ win in the first quarter after suffering a hit to the head. He was soon ruled out with a concussion.
Nico Collins was taken to the medical tent shortly after making a spectacular 67-yard touchdown catch. He then went to the locker room with a hamstring injury. Collins was later ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Aaron Rodgers told reporters that he sustained a low ankle sprain following the Jets’ defeat to the Vikings. The team will continue to monitor the situation.
