While most of the offseason headlines in Cleveland centered around the Browns shaking up their quarterbacks, they also beefed up at tight end by signing Ben Watson, formerly of the New England Patriots. Cleveland coach Eric Mangini is excited about his new tight end.
“I think his best football is ahead of him,” Mangini said.
The Canton Repository article stated "Watson caught everything thrown to him in the practice we saw this week. He seemed fast and spontaneous, making moves the moment the ball was secured."
With Cleveland being so young at wide receiver, Watson is their most experienced receiver. That said, it's hard to get excited about anyone catching passes from Jake Delhomme and the rest of Cleveland's quarterbacks, and Watson rarely set the fantasy world on fire playing with Tom Brady. He projects as a fantasy backup who at best might be worth a spot start if Cleveland is playing someone like Buffalo.
