Good news for the Bengals offense as a whole, but we'll have to see what kind of snap count Higgins will get if he's ready to go. Don't consider him anything higher than a fringe WR3/4 for his debut.

Ja'Marr Chase was a full participant at practice and is questionable, per the official injury report.

Tee Higgins (hamstring) did not practice and is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

It seems as if the Chase contract situation might settle itself over the weekend, which would keep him on fantasy radars, even if he doesn't play his usual complement of snaps.

If one or both of the stud receivers miss Week 1, Iosivas would be the best bet to jump into WR3/4 range.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor doesn’t have any answers for Ja’Marr Chase, who continued to sit out of practice Monday as he seeks a long-term extension. The season starts Sunday, and Taylor sounds as if doesn’t know whether he will have his star receiver.

“We’ll just take it day to day,” Taylor said Monday, via Emily Sanderson of WLWT.

Chase’s availability for the Week 1 game against the Patriots is in doubt after he showed up for practice dressed in street clothes, watching from the sideline as he continues to hold in. If Chase does play, the question then becomes: How many snaps will he play, the story went on to say. Taylor also said via the story, “It’s impossible for me to say with 100 percent conviction, but I feel good about the shape that he’s in,” Taylor said.

The Bengals would like to get receiver Ja’Marr Chase signed to a second contract at some point, though it’s unlikely to happen this season.

It’s become more and more clear, however, that the team is planning to move on from Tee Higgins after 2024.

Higgins signed his franchise tender in June and the two sides unsurprisingly did not reach a long-term deal by last week’s deadline. On Monday, Bengals owner Mike Brown noted the salary cap when explaining why Cincinnati has not signed Higgins to an extension, the story went on to say. For those in dynasty leagues, or for those who just like to look ahead, the rookie Burton could be the one who eventually slides into the WR2 role if in fact the Bengals move on from Higgins after this season.

Breaking: Tee Higgins has signed his franchise tag. He is expected to report for training camp when it begins.

So, the mini-holdout has come to its end, and Higgins will suit up for the Bengals in 2024. No word yet on an extension, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Higgins should be considered a borderline WR2/3 for fantasy purposes.
