Miami Dolphins tailback Daniel Thomas tore a ligament in his left ankle during Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers, and is likely done for the season.
Thomas, who gained 279 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns on his 77 carries this season, left Sunday's game on crutches and was in a walking boot. According to a source, Thomas will not have to undergo surgery to repair the injury.
Mike Gillislee will likely be activated next week for the first time in his career and would back up Lamar Miller, who should see a bulk of the workload. The only other running back on the roster is kick returner Marcus Thigpen. The bad news is the 'Fins play the tough-against-the-run Jets in Week 13. Reports Tuesday said Thomas may not miss the season now, but for fantasy purposes he likely won't be of any help.
