Bills WR John Brown (knee) missed practice again Thursday. Brown was limping last week against the Chiefs. He was a full participant on Thursday and Friday of last week, so this is a downgrade relative to Week 6. The Bills may decide to hold him out if they feel they can beat the Jets without him. If he's out, Gabriel Davis would see a big bump in snaps, but Cole Beasley would also benefit.

Bills WR John Brown (calf) took limited practice reps again Friday. Brown was limping badly after a play on Thursday, so the limited reps on Friday are a good sign, though it's still unclear whether he'll be able to play. We should get another injury report for the Bills on Saturday. If he's out, Gabriel Davis is a very intriguing Sneaky Start while Cole Beasley should also see a few extra snaps.

Bills WR John Brown (calf) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday practice. Brown did return to practice but was hobbling badly after making a catch. He has been removed from the rankings pending further news. If he's out Gabriel Davis is a particularly intriguing Sneaky Start. He cleared 80 yards in Week 3, when Brown was limited. Cole Beasley would also get a bump with Brown out.

Bills WR John Brown (calf) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week. He was removed from the injury report so he's good to go. He is at risk of re-injury, but it appears that Brown is near full health. As Sneaky Starts, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis are not as appealing with Brown active.

The addition of Stefon Diggs along with rookies Gabriel Davis and running back Zack Moss give the Bills even more options in the screen game. Dawson Knox also caught a screen pass Sunday. It was clearly a point of emphasis in training camp, and now Buffalo has a new wrinkle for its offense. It’s particularly useful when going against a defense like the Jets, coached by Gregg Williams, who loves to blitz.

The story went on to say the following: If it looked like the Bills were sticking with shorter passes, the numbers back that up. Allen had an average of 5.5 air yards on his completions, which was right around the middle of the league’s top performers this week. He also attempted only four passes that traveled 20 or more yards in the air. The good news is Allen completed three of those passes after being one of the league’s worst passers in that range a year ago. It’s a small sample size, but promising nonetheless. Of Allen’s 46 passing attempts, 12 of them were thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage. Only Aaron Rogers and Kyler Murray attempted more such passes.
