Myles Gaskin appeared in 39 (of 62 possible) snaps, while Matt Brieda played 14 snaps, Howard nine and Patrick Laird four. Gaskin finished with nine carries for 40 yards. Breida had five carries for 22 yards, and Jordan Howard struggled to find any rhythm, mustering just 7 yards on eight rushes. The emergence of Gaskin is an interesting development, but his efforts weren’t nearly enough.
The story said Gaskin worked hard this offseason and was clearly rewarded with a bulk of the snaps vs. the other backs who were expected to be ahead of him. Because of the struggles by the Miami offense, it may not mean Gaskin is a sure thing, though, so proceed with caution.
