Baltimore coach John Harbaugh stated that Reed had a surgical procedure last week. The Baltimore Sun reports the surgery done in Colorado was to repair a torn labrum in his hip that has bothered him since a November game against the Steelers. Rehabilition hasn't been going as well as hoped and Harbaugh said Reed "decided to get the procedure now to give him the best chance to get back for most of training camp and be ready to go for the season."
Reed can be a great IDP player, but owners should be wary of taking him until he proves he's fully healthy. In leagues that utilize team defenses, Baltimore's defense slides a little if Reed isn't in the lineup.
