Since returning from his turf toe injury in Week 6, Phillip Lindsay has averaged 6.92 yards per carry. That figure leads all running backs with at least 15 rushing attempts during that span. And only NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry (eight) has a greater number of explosive runs — defined as at least 12 yards — than Lindsay (seven) during the last three weeks, according to Sportradar.

Overall, Lindsay’s 6.4 yards per scrimmage touch represent the most efficient rate of his career. For context, he averaged 5.6 yards per touch during his Pro Bowl rookie season in 2018, the story pointed out. The author asked the question: Is Lindsay more productive on a per-play basis because he’s best suited for this slightly reduced, change-of-pace role? Or is he succeeding in spite of the lower volume Gordon’s arrival has created?

Outside of a 75-yard catch on a screen that Henry took for a touchdown in Week 1 of last season, Henry was mostly a nonfactor as a pass catcher in 2019. But he appears committed to changing that in 2020. It remains to be seen how much the Titans will use Henry on passing down situations, where they normally rolled with No. 2 running back Dion Lewis last season, the story said. Lewis is now with the Giants and we think Evans could get work behind Henry, perhaps especially in the passing game. Henry would get a nice boost in fantasy value with any kind of work in the passing game.

Only yesterday it was reported that the Titans were unlikely to extend Henry long-term, but things change quickly in the NFL and Tennessee obviously had a change of heart about locking up their workhorse running back. Henry will remain in Tennessee for the foreseeable future and projects as a high-volume, tackle-breaking machine for the Titans as they look to repeat last year's success. Whether or not paying up for Henry is a wise move for the Titans in real life, dyansty drafters should take note because it solidifies Henry's status as a a RB1 and reaffirms that he is one of the safest picks available in the middle of the first round for redraft.
