Pete Carroll said DK Metcalf is "moving around this week" with hopes of a quick return. Too soon to know what that means for Week 1.

Metcalf had a minor scope on his knee about a week ago but seems to have a shot to play in Week 1. There isn't really a sure thing behind Lockett at this point, so if Metcalf plays he still comes with risks but could certainly see some targets. Moore has a broken arm and also is a big question for Week 1, leaving Brown and Ursua up next.

Rookie John Ursua appears to be part of the Seahawks’ offensive plans, particularly as injuries to DK Metcalf and David Moore have depleted some of the depth at wide receiver.

Ursua looks like he'll play slot receiver at least until the unit gets healthier. The story was mostly about the comparisons of Ursua and Doug Baldwin. At Hawaii last year, Ursua led the nation in TD receptions with 16 and added 89 catches for 1,343 yards. So far in preseason he has four catches for 100 yards, which leads the team.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll told reporters Sunday that D.K. Metcalf needs surgery on his knee. Carroll didn't offer a definitive timetable for the dynamic athlete's return but said he would likely know more after the procedure, which is planned for Tuesday.

"We're disappointed for him because he was off to a fantastic start, but I don't think this is going to derail him for long," Carroll said. "But he does have to have some work done."

Metcalf was having a strong summer for the Seahawks. His fall debut might be delayed as a result. But, the story said Carroll said the team is optimistic Metcalf could still play Week 1. Moore and Brown could see more chances of Metcalf misses time.

When first offense first took firmd in a two receiver set the two receivers were Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

Metcalf is just 80th on our WR list but so far early reports have been positive on the rookie. He'll be battling with Brown and Moore for playing time behind Lockett.

A source told Adam Schefter earlier Monday he didn't think Baldwin could go tonight, and he will indeed sit. That leaves Brown, Turner and Moore as potential targets behind Tyler Lockett.

Seahawks’ WR Doug Baldwin, who did not practice this week due to a groin injury, is listed as questionable for tonight’s game vs Vikings.

Schefter went on to say in the tweet: Asked if Baldwin would play tonight, one source said: “I wouldn’t think so, but you never know with Doug. I’m sure he will try.” If Baldwin can't go Moore and Brown could see a bump in snaps and touches, but it's a tough matchup against the Vikings tonight.

Seahawks released veteran WR Brandon Marshall, per source.

Marshall played only two snaps in Week 8. Meanwhile, Moore's snaps went from just under 50% this season as an average to 71% in Week 8 where he put up a 4-97-1 line. Moore actually has four TDs in his last three games.
