Updating a previous item, Redskins RB Derrius Guice tore his ACL in Thursday night's preseason game.
It was originally thought to be a MCL sprain, but if it’s his ACL, it’s terrible news for Guice, who was slated for at least a two-down role for the Redskins. Chris Thompson was already one of our favorite values, especially in PPR formats, but now he should see a few more carries as well. According to beat writer John Keim, Samaje Perine is the “odd man out” meaning that Rob Kelley, Byron Marshall and Kapri Bibbs are all ahead of him in the Washington backfield. The coaching staff has praised Kelley this offseason, so it seems likely that he’ll assume the two-down role now that Guice is out.
