Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin, Covid reserve list) will return to the practice field Sunday.

He’ll be on the side field working with trainers. He has been on the active/PUP list with a groin injury that has kept him out of practice since June. Certainly a good sign, nonetheless, that he is getting work, even if on the side, as he is seemingly inching towards being fully activated. Samuel is currently our No. 35 WR in half-PPR.

Rookie WR Dyami Brown probably won't be a Day 1 starter.

No. 3 WR spot will come down to Adam Humphries or Cam Sims behind Terry McClaurin/Curtis Samuel. Ex-Patriot DeAndre Carter involved as a returner.

One more note: I'm not sensing any major concern over WFT FA addition WR Curtis Samuel, who's on PUP and COVID lists.

Brown has been a name to watch. The tweet said he's making plays, catching on quickly and his speed jumps out. As for Samuel, he's looking to get back on the field, but Kyed reminds us Samuel played in Scott Turner's system in Carolina and should be able to hit the ground running.

There's still plenty of time for Curtis Samuel to heal from his groin twinge, but it would be helpful for him to get in as many reps as he can with his new offense. Samuel is currently ranked as 4for4's WR30 in half-PPR formats and can come off the list at any time.

Former Panthers’ WR Curtis Samuel is signing a three-year, $34.5 million deal with Washington, per source.

Samuel is reunited with his old head coach, Ron Rivera, who apparently tried to trade for him last season. He'll form a potent 1-2 punch with Terry McLaurin and give new QB Ryan Fitzpatrick one of the fastest receiving duos to throw to. Samuel's new OC, Scott Turner, was the quarterbacks coach in Carolina from 2018 to 2019, so he's very familiar with Samuel's skillset. Usage-wise, Samuel should see 100-plus targets as Washington's No. 2 weapon in the passing game. That should put him in the WR3/WR4 range, fantasy-wise. He could finish higher if the team utilizes his running ability as well.

Panthers WR Curtis Samuel was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He was considered a high-risk, close contact.

Samuel is practicing Friday, so he appears in line to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

Keep in mind, we don't yet know who tested positive and who may have just been in close contact. Obviously Moore and Samuel are the big fantasy players here so owners will have to monitor throughout the week. When we reported on Moore a few hours ago, it was noted he was dealing with an ankle injury so his status was in doubt anyway for Week 14. Anderson could end up as the WR1 if Moore and Samuel are out. The team hopes McCaffrey can play this week as well.
