Falcons defensive end Lawrence Sidbury, in his second season out of Richmond, is eager to play a large role in improving Atlanta's pass rush.
"We really anticipate that Lawrence will take a big step here this season in year two," Atlanta head coach Mike Smith said.
Atlanta's team defense is usually not coveted by fantasy owners, but they did make some nice moves this offseason, drafting Sean Weatherspoon and signing Dunta Robinson. Given that they'll be playing the Buccaneers and Panthers twice, two teams with young quarterbacks, plus the Browns and the entire NFC West, the Falcons might be a nice number two defense to target in larger fantasy leagues and one to watch on the waiver wire in smaller ones. IDP owners should monitor Sidbury's progress.
