Videos emerged everywhere of Smith warming up and just about all of them said he appeared to look normal. Rapoport reported this morning that Smith would have an uphill battle to be able to go tonight, but it looks like Smith will get the start. It's a great matchup against and Eagles defense that's been lit up in recent weeks by the Bills, 49ers and Cowboys.

Ian Rapoport reported Geno Smith has to improve a lot in order to play in Week 15 against the Eagles on Monday night.

Rapoport said there is a pretty good possibility that Lock makes the start against the Eagles on Monday night. Lock held his own against the 49ers last week, throwing for 269 yards, two TDs and two INTs, and does have a favorable matchup against an Eagles secondary that's been torched in recent weeks. We'll likely know more about Smith as the day goes on but as of now it looks like Lock could get the start.

Smith was limited all week after missing Week 14 against the 49ers. If Smith can't go, it will be another week with Drew Lock at quarterback. Whoever is at quarterback should have a chance at a decent day. The Eagles have struggled against the pass in recent weeks and now will be without cornerback Darius Slay this week. It's unknown yet who will start in his place but that should provide a bump up for DK Metcalf which should in turn help either Smith or Lock.

One of the things that helps Smith’s chances is the extra time Seattle will have to prepare for the matchup, which was recently flexed to Monday night. While that's good news for Smith, it's bad news for owners who may not have the luxury to wait out a game-time call. Owners counting on Smith are going to need a backup plan.

The last time we saw Lock with significant playing time was the final three games of the Broncos season in 2021. He would throw one touchdown and 560 yards on 82 pass attempts. He shouldn't be considered in any league type, if possible.

In a difficult matchup, Smith is only in consideration in Superflex leagues, while Charbonnet should fill in as an RB2.

Smith deferred to Pete Carroll on whether he’ll play Thursday and whether he’ll be rested until tomorrow. But, it sounds like Wednesday could be a big day as far as a better indication goes if Smith will be ready. Carroll originally had said the team felt good about Smith chances for Thursday night, but owners may have to wait until right before game time.

According to another Boyle post, Carroll said it will take a couple of days for Geno Smith's elbow to quiet down, but said, "There’s no structural issue there, but he’s got a sore elbow." Smith was listed as a non-participant for Monday's practice, but according to his coach could very well be on the field Thursday night against the 49ers. Of course, Smith did return to the game after Lock took over.

After the game, HC Pete Carroll said the team didn't know if Smith can play in Week 13. The good news is Smith was able to return to the game, but Rapoport said the elbow "blew up on him" which caused him to miss time late in the game. The real issue here is it's a short week for the Seahawks, as they play the night game on Thanksgiving Day.

Pete Carroll reiterated that the loss “is not on one guy,” but the two turnovers make eight in the last four games for Geno Smith and Carroll was asked about his level of concern about that run.

“I’m concerned about that,” Carroll said. “The one, on the fumble, that’s a pass-rush deal. The interception, he threw it up, and the guy who’s been making all the interceptions made another one. But that’s not the direction for us to be going. Up until this game, it took us to first place, whatever the heck we’ve been doing. We didn’t play like a first place team today. With those kind of turnovers, it’s really hard to win.”

As the story summed up, the loss dropped the Seahawks to 5-3, which puts them back into a tie with the 49ers at the top of the NFC West. They’ll face the Commanders and Rams before a three-game run that features two games against the Niners sandwiched around a matchup with Dallas. Lock is the backup to Smith.
