Tyrod is a perfectly capable backup, but this offense looks destined for failure regardless of the QB, as they currently rank 31st in points scored and 32nd in yardage gained. The team also happens to rank in the bottom-six of the league in those defensive categories as well.

Rapoport said Jones' status for Week 6 is "iffy" or "up in the air." Taylor's arrival is not nearly the competition Mitch Trubisky would have been, but Taylor is much better than Mike Glennon. Taylor should not be rostered unless he usurps Daniel Jones.

Texans HC David Culley told reporters Friday that QB Davis Mills will start for Houston the remainder of the season.

Texans QBs Davis Mills and Tyrod Taylor will split reps this week according to HC David Culley. No starter has been announced ahead of their game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Steer clear of both unless your Superflex/two-QB league team is desperate.

There isn’t a quarterback projected to be worthy of a pick like the Texans will have in the first round if they don't trade down, so there’s a chance Davis Mills will be competing to start in 2022. If he is given the chance to start again this season, it seems unlikely things turn around given the personnel surrounding him.

The Texans are projected to have a top-five pick in the 2022 draft. Taylor wasn't good against the Colts before getting hurt in Week 13 with a wrist injury. The Texans would be better off giving Mills starts to finish the season to see if he has any chance to be the future at the position.

On Monday, head coach David Culley said Tyrod Taylor will undergo an MRI on his left wrist. The quarterback was having trouble fielding snaps after hyperextending the wrist.

Taylor was cleared to return to the game but was replaced by Mills in the third quarter. Culley said the team will continue to evaluate who will start against the Seahawks in Week 14. That decision will be made later in the week.
