Chargers WR Keenan Allen (shoulder, questionable) missed practice Friday after taking limited reps Thursday and is questionable for Week 7. It’s a midweek downgrade, but he says he’s “very hopeful” that he can play through the injury. The Chargers play in the late round of games on Sunday.

Chiefs place K Cairo Santos on IR

The Chiefs parked kicker Cairo Santos during the preseason because of a groin injury, and now they’re going to be without him for at least eight weeks.

The team announced they had placed Santos on injured reserve, and signed rookie Harrison Butker off the Panthers practice squad.

Fantasy Impact:

Butker was actually on the Panthers 53-man roster to start the season, while the waited to see if they could swing a trade for either him or Graham Gano. The seventh-round pick from Georgia Tech has a strong leg and nearly unseated Gano.

Fantasy Impact:

Head Coach Anthony Lynn suggested earlier this week that Williams (back) could play by Week 4 or 5. So, it makes sense that he didn't stay on PUP, which would have required him to miss six games. Considering Williams is probably about a month away still, this should affect the fantasy values of Allen or Williams who hold a strong grip atop the Chargers' WR depth chart to start the season.
