Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson is officially inactive for Thursday afternoon’s contest against the Detroit Lions.

Robinson is dealing with a hamstring injury and was unable to get cleared on the short week. Robinson has struggled for much of the season and may finally be freed from Bears purgatory when the season is over. He has not shown enough in 2021 to get the payday he wants from the Bears, so he may have to look elsewhere. Darnell Mooney should dominate the targets and be the first read of most of the plays for the Bears with Robinson sidelined. However, he should also receive more defensive attention. Mooney is our 22nd ranked wide receiver for Week 12.

Lions QB Jared Goff (oblique) is questionable for Week 12's Thanksgiving Day game against the Chicago Bears.

Crazy as it sounds, but Goff is a massive upgrade over Tim Boyle. Goff has a chance to surprise against an ailing Bears defense if he suits up.

Bears QB Justin Fields (ribs) was officially ruled out for Thanksgiving Day at Detroit. WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) is doubtful and Marquise Goodwin (shoulder) is questionable.

Goodwin was a full participant if the Bears would have practiced, so expect him to play. No need to rush Robinson back against an inferior team and with his long-term availability in mind. Dalton was expected to start, so Fields' ruling is just clerical since he is not on IR.

In his own press conference later in the day, Jared Goff told reporters that he’s feeling “better every day” after missing Sunday’s loss to the Browns with his oblique injury.

“We’ll see,” Goff said. “I don’t know what [Campbell] has said, but I’d probably categorize it as a game-day decision. I feel good though, really good.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that Goff was “trending” toward playing on Thanksgiving against the Bears. Not sure if there is a lot of difference between the two statements but Campbell's sounds a little more positive than Goff's assessment one can argue. Boyle would get the start again if Goff can't play.

Bears WR Allen Robinson was listed as DNP for Tuesday.

The Bears held a walkthrough but Robinson, who is dealing with a hamstring issue, wouldn't have been able to take part according to the tweet. Mooney would be the top target for fill-in QB Andy Dalton on Thursday against the Lions.

Lions coach Dan Campbell says Jared Goff (oblique) is doing better and it's "leaning toward" him starting Thursday against the Bears.

Boyle wasn't much better in Week 11 so Goff is likely welcomed back for the Thanksgiving game against the Bears. If Goff can't go or has a setback, Boyle would get the start.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields was still having his injured ribs evaluated on Monday, so it’s little surprise to learn that he would not have practiced with the team.

Wide receiver Allen Robinson didn’t play against Baltimore because of a hamstring injury and he wouldn’t have practiced on Monday.

We reported earlier today from Ian Rapoport that Dalton could get the start on Thanksgiving against the Lions thanks to a quick turnaround this week. X-Rays on Fields' ribs were negative but he was getting more tests.

After Sunday’s loss to the Browns, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that Jared Goff will start at quarterback against the Bears on Thursday if he’s healthy enough to play.

There probably isn't a lot of doubt in their minds after Boyle didn't exactly light it up. But Boyle would get the start of Goff isn't ready to play on Thanksgiving. Goff was listed as limited on the team's practice report for Monday.
