49ers RB Elijah Mitchell had a finger fracture. He's going to get it fixed but unclear just yet what his status for this week will be against Jacksonville.

Wagoner went on to say in another tweet that Shanahan said doctors are "pretty optimistic" Mitchell will be OK. And there's a chance Mitchell will be able to practice Wednesday. Wagoner added the team just wants to see how he's doing after getting pin put in finger during procedure. The Niners play the Jags in Week 11, so if they assume they can win the game, maybe sitting Mitchell a week makes some sense. Wilson saw limited snaps behind Mitchell in Week 10 and would likely get a bulk of the work if Mitchell has to miss time. There could even be another Trey Sermon citing if Mitchell is out.

For two weeks, quarterback Mike White took the New York Jets and their success-starved fan base on a joy ride, thrilling them with the allure of wild possibilities. The whole thing crashed Sunday with 11:47 remaining in the third quarter, when he tried to throw a 21-point touchdown pass -- a reckless deep ball that was intercepted by the Buffalo Bills.

White didn't just turn into a pumpkin in the 45-17 loss at MetLife Stadium; he turned into Zach Wilson, which is to say he stepped out of character and made bad decisions with the ball.

The story said it's time to turn back to Wilson at QB, who could be able to play and start this week, but is "still dealing with stuff," according to HC Robert Saleh from the story. It would make sense to refocus back to Wilson, who was the number-two overall pick. White did go up against the Bills, but as the story said, his bubble kind of burst. Wilson starting this week will obviously depend on his health. The team didn't commit to anyone so far for Week 3, but Flacco did come on in relief of White.

The Colts have officially moved on to their third backup quarterback in a season that hasn’t hit the halfway point yet.

Indianapolis head coach Frank Reich named rookie Sam Ehlinger to the No. 2 spot Tuesday, confirming a move made obvious by the decision Monday to release veteran Brett Hundley and bring him back on the practice squad.

Ehlinger, a sixth-round pick out of Texas who has never thrown a regular season pass in the NFL, is now next in line behind Wentz. Reich said Ehlinger is finally healthy enough and he's continued to learn the offense.

Shanahan said Elijah Mitchell emerged from the game with a rib injury. Said the rookie runner will be limited in practice on Wednesday.

It seems like Mitchell should be able to play in Week 9 at home against the Cardinals. Hasty got just three carries last week for four yards but reports say Wilson could be back to practice this week as well. The 49ers play a late-afternoon game in Week 9 so owners should probably try to come up with a backup plan just in case Mitchell trends downward this week.

Head coach Frank Reich told reporters in his Monday press conference that T.Y. Hilton is out for the Week 9 matchup against the Jets with a concussion.

With 8:46 left in the fourth quarter, Hilton went up for a pass from quarterback Carson Wentz but hit his head hard on the turf as he came down. He was able to walk off the field under his own power. Hilton missed the first five games of the season while on IR after neck surgery. Then after playing in Week 6, Hilton was out for Week 7 with a quad injury, the story said. Pittman and Pascal would be the team's top-two WRs with Hilton out in a matchup against the Jets.

Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (quad) did not practice Wednesday, while RBs Jonathan Taylor (ribs) and Nyheim Hines (ribs) were limited.

It feels like a stretch to expect Hilton to play Week 8, while Taylor and Hines may be resting as much as possible after a wet outing Sunday night.

Jets QB Mike White will start Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Josh Johnson will be his back-up as it is unlikely Joe Flacco is active (personal). Flacco will practice Friday.

Unless every QB is taken in your Superflex/Two-QB leagues, do not roster Mike White with any expectations.

The Eagles agreed to trade Flacco to the Jets today, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The Eagles will get a sixth-round draft pick that can become a fifth-round pick depending on Flacco’s playing time, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Flacco could very well end up starting, especially if Wilson has to miss four weeks. White may get at least one more chance this week until Flacco can get up to speed, but many feel the Jets have needed a veteran influence around Wilson all along. Minshew is now back on the fantasy radar as the backup to Hurts, who has not exactly looked great so far this season. It may not be all that big of a surprise to see Minshew get some time at some point this season.
