NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew could be in danger of being benched if his struggles continue.

Rapoport says that benching could come as soon as today against the Chargers. Mike Glennon is Minshew’s backup. Minshew has four fumbles and five interceptions during the Jaguars’ five-game losing streak. Head coach Doug Marrone even said he’d be naive to think it’s not a possibility that the team switches quarterbacks. The Jaguars have their bye next week so they’ll certainly be closely evaluating over the next few days.

Browns TE Austin Hooper will not play Sunday after having an appendectomy, according to Tom Withers of the Associated Press and other sources.

Hooper had been on a run of three games with five catches, so his loss is fairly important for a struggling Browns offense. Look for David Njoku and Harrison Bryant to split Hooper's workload this week.

Doug Marrone did not provide the same kind of assurances for quarterback Gardner Minshew. Minshew was 25-of-44 for 243 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the 34-16 loss and Marrone was asked after the game if he considered making a change at quarterback.

The head coach said he didn’t, but stopped short of ruling out a move at some point down the line.

“Maybe in the future, I think,” Marrone said, via Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com. “I mean, I’d be naïve not to say [that’s a possibility]."

Marrone clarified that’s something that's up for any position on the team, and added he didn’t feel that way during the course of the game about pulling Minshew. Still, it's a possibility if the Jags continue to trend down. It's something owners should be aware of, especially if Minshew is a streaming or every week option for owners. Glennon and Luton are next up on the depth chart.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook will not play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Matthew Coller of PurpleInsider.com.

This was expected with the Vikings heading into a Week 7 bye. Alexander Mattison will start in Cook's place.

Dalvin Cook isn’t expected to play this Sunday against the Falcons after suffering an adductor strain, according to a source.

While Cook was only a question mark on Monday, it shouldn't be a surprise the team will sit him this week. As we talked about on Monday, the Vikings have a bye in Week 6 so the hope is to get Cook a couple of weeks rest before hopefully returning to action in Week 7. Mattison looks to at least be a one-week starter for the Vikings in a nice matchup. In limited time Mattison finished with over 100 yards rushing filling in for Cook last week after he left the game.

Dalvin Cook appears to have avoided serious injury, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said, after the star running back strained his groin in the third quarter of Sunday’s 27-26 loss in Seattle.

Cook underwent an MRI on Monday that went “pretty well,” Zimmer said, and the fact Cook didn’t end up on injured reserve indicates the Vikings believe his injury will cost him fewer than three games, if any at all.

Zimmer acknowledged Cook has a chance to play Sunday against the Falcons, but the Vikings also have a Week 7 bye that could give him two weeks of rest while missing one game. Mattison filled in nicely and will likely be a popular waiver wire grab this week. Hopefully for Cook owners they are already backed up.
