Chiefs now have placed wide receiver Rashee Rice on injured reserve, meaning he’s out a minimum of four games.

It may be tough to hold Rice on your bench for a month, but he needs to be held on to in most league sizes. Kelce and Worthy figure to get the biggest bump, but keep an eye on the usage of the other ancillary pieces here in Week 5.

The Chiefs are placing WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown on IR, and he will undergo surgery to repair his dislocated SC joint. After multiple imaging studies, it was determined that, although Hollywood felt better, his injury was not healing correctly. Without corrective surgery, he would risk a more serious long-term injury.

The surgery is scheduled for Monday with Dr. Peter Millett in Vail, CO, and the Chiefs will monitor his rehab progress throughout the season.

My read: With his legal situation not yet settled, Rice remains eligible to begin play this season.

Kadarius Toney’s time with the Chiefs has come to an end.

According to multiple reports, Kanas City is waiving Toney on Tuesday.

Reports say the Chiefs had been looking for a trade partner for Toney. Toney struggled in 2023 with multiple drops leading to interceptions, the story pointed out. The Chiefs will be fine at WR with youngsters like Rice, Worthy and Moore.

The Chiefs expect Hollywood Brown to return early in the regular season. Reid was noncommittal about Brown's chances of playing in the team's Sept. 5 opener against the Baltimore Ravens, saying only, "We'll see.''

If we knew that Brown were to miss multiple regular season games, Watson would be a little more interesting, but he should remain undrafted in most fantasy leagues. He could be worth a dart throw in *very* deep drafts or in large-field tournaments for differentiation.

Doing the math, opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night. KC opens up at home vs. Baltimore and then Cincinnati. The timetable certainly puts the Baltimore game in doubt but it's possible if recovery goes well, Brown could return for Week 2. With Brown out, rookie Worthy seems to have the biggest chance to produce early on this season behind Rice.

With the Chiefs kicking off their organized team activities today, WR Rashee Rice will be attending and participating in all activities.
