NFL Preseason DFS Picks: Friday, Aug. 18
Below is a breakdown of the top DFS picks in each of the three games of the Friday Week 2 Preseason DFS slate.
Vikings @ Seahawks
Mike Zimmer reportedly “made it clear this week he wants to see the Vikings’ top offensive unit get into a rhythm” and hinted he wants to “take a look at younger players against better competition.” That could mean even more for Dalvin Cook than the 5 carries and 4 touches he got last week.
Minnesota’s first-team offense seems likely to play a good amount of the first half, but facing the Seahawks defense means no plays really stand out. Rookie WR Stacy Coley went 3-67 on 5 targets last week and may get to close out the game.
Beat writers expect Seahawks starters to play into the second quarter, but not necessarily the whole first half, but beat writers expect the first-team offensive line to play longer than other starters. Pete Carroll said to expect a “good dose” of Eddie Lacy with Thomas Rawls out. Seventh-round RB Chris Carson, a Carroll favorite, had 2 TDs and a long run called back last week and could get more time to shine late.
Two-year practice squad vet WR Kasen Williams caught 4-of-4 targets for 119 yards last week and could get time with both the starters and reserves. WR Tanner McEvoy caught 2 TDs on 11 targets last season and could also flash. QB Trevone Boykin has upside: he went 12-of-15 for 189 yards, 1 TD, 1 interception, and 31 yards rushing on 4 carries last week.
