The Jets on Saturday cut tight end Jace Amaro, a league source confirmed to NJ Advance Media.
Amaro was drafted by the Jets in Round 2 in 2014. He sputtered at times during his rookie season, but showed potential, too. He missed all of last season with a shoulder injury.
Fantasy Impact:
Early in training camp this year, Amaro looked improved. But he failed to impress during preseason games. And he missed the Week 3 preseason game against the Giants due to a groin injury. Other reports said the new coaching staff didn't really connect with Amaro so this wasn't really a surprise cut.
