McCoy: 'We're going to see how it goes' if RB Melvin Gordon plays Week 16
San Diego Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is recovering from a hip strain and a knee sprain, suffered while playing the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.
"We're going to see how it goes. Not a lot has changed since the other day," HC Mike McCoy said.
McCoy said the team will do what's best for Gordon. He did say once he's ready to go they'd evaluate the situation. He did add Gordon has a great mindset, is chomping at the bit and has been working hard to get back on the field as he's just a few yards shy of 1,000 for the season. Realistically, it doesn't make a lot of sense for the team to put Gordon back on the field with just two games left and their season over, but McCoy and the team certainly haven't ruled that out. We've have to assume even if he plays, he wouldn't get the full workload fantasy owners have been used to.
