More likely, however, the Vikings will beat the Bears, and the Cardinals can do no better than the No. 3 seed. Then, Whisenhunt faces a difficult decision. Does he rest starters such as quarterback Kurt Warner? How about guys who could use an extra week of rest, such as cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (toe) or defensive end Darnell Dockett, who is nursing a variety of bruises and strains?
The Cardinals haven't had a week off since the bye in week four. There are a lot of players who need rest. But Whisenhunt acknowledged Monday that resting starters carries some risk. He think this offense is close to finding a good rhythm and he doesn't want to put that in jeopardy.
