K David Buehler said he is making progress in his transition from kickoff specialist to full time kicker. He says the lessons with kicking coach Chris Boniol are going well and he is hopeful that he will be ready to handle all the kicking chores next season for the Cowboys.
"We changed some stuff up fundamentally," Buehler said. "Just getting comfortable and not having to think about it, where it was second nature, that was the thing at the beginning. Now I'm used to what he's been teaching me and I've been doing it routinely, it's good."
In other news, coach Wade Phillips said he would prefer that QB Tony Romo not have to hold on field goals and extra points.
There's nothing like fantasy kicker talk in May! But in reality, if Buehler wins the job he's going to have some value at the ever-important position in your lineup. He should have a lot of opportunities to put up top-10 kicker points behind a pretty solid Dallas offense, so keep the name in mind.
