Will the Colts part ways with RB Joseph Addai like they did with RB Edgerrin James once the upcoming season ends? His contract is up after 2010 and he'll be 28 in the spring. Running backs have been known not to do well after 30 and the Colts prefer to stay young at that position. Sounds like a recipe for a 2011 draft pick. Looking ahead, who might fit the system.

ANSWER: With so many significant players in line to become unrestricted free agents after the 2010 season, it would be a surprised if the Colts decide to re-sign Addai. Unless a team has a rare running back, it seems the best approach is to use a player for four or five seasons, then reload. Addai has been a very good back for the Colts and I expect him to have a solid season in 2010. But after that, it should be time to turn to Donald Brown and find someone to work as his backup. That's life in the NFL.

Fantasy Impact:

This could mean more work for RB Donald Brown this year to see if he can be counted on should Addai leave. Something to think about come draft time...
