Detroit Free Press: Lions WR Mike Furrey said Thursday he had his
first symptom-free day and could be close to playing this week
after suffering the first concussion of his career two weeks ago
against Jacksonville. "I ran pretty hard today, and (if) my
symptoms are gone tomorrow and I don't have any repercussions from
today, I'll practice tomorrow," said Furrey, who missed his first
game since 2004 last week at Carolina. "And if I wake up Saturday
with nothing, I'll be ready to go Sunday." Furrey took part in
drills and ran routes without a helmet. When practice started, he
left the field to run a mile on the treadmill and lift weights.
