Vince Young played two series, Chris Simms played six and rookie Rusty Smith got his feet wet as the Titans opened their preseason schedule on Saturday night in Seattle.
So where was Kerry Collins? The 16th-year pro watched from the sideline in a T-shirt and jeans. Suitable attire for the farm maybe, but not what the veteran quarterback is used to wearing to work.
"When they first approached me about it, I guess I was surprised,'' Collins said. "I'd never been in that situation before. But after hearing their thinking, I think it made sense.''
Coach Jeff Fisher hinted last week that Collins might not play. After the game the coach said the decision was about evaluating Simms and Smith, not anything negative about Collins.
