Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Kerry Meier's rookie season is over before it began.
The Falcons have announced that Meier, a fifth-round pick, is out for the season with a knee injury suffered during Thursday night's 28-10 loss to the Patriots.
Meier, who played college football at Kansas, was having a good training camp and was expected to be a contributor as a rookie.
Injuries have been an ongoing concern for the Falcons' receivers. Harry Douglas is recovering from a torn ACL suffered last year, and Michael Jenkins is currently out with a shoulder injury.
