Cam Akers to be active Week 18, workload uncertain

Rams RB Cam Akers (Achilles) will be active Week 18, but HC Sean McVay is uncertain of his workload.

“Cam deserves a lot of credit. This is a special guy who is a special player and getting him back will definitely give us a boost,” McVay said. “What that workload looks like and how it works? I can’t answer that quite yet but I do expect him to be able to contribute in some form or fashion on Sunday against the 49ers.”

Sony Michel should be the lead back Week 18 as Akers works his way back in, but having a second trustworthy back with the NFC West on the line is invaluable.
