I begin my research for DFS tournaments every week by sifting through what our opponents are doing and engineering lineups backward from there.
These top plays, though viable for cash games (which will be noted throughout), are suggested specifically for tournaments and are weighted for ceiling projection, matchup, ownership, and value. I will include any thoughts on game theory within my reasoning for each player.

Quarterbacks
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ($8,000 DraftKings, $8,800 FanDuel)
An inevitable blowout should not concern us since Mahomes has already finished as the week’s overall QB3 with 423-3-1in a 44-23 trouncing over the 49ers and 22.5 fantasy points in Week 12’s 26-10 no-contests against the Rams. Rostering Travis Kelce as his lone stacking partner will be more than enough given that both are projecting to combine for roughly 10% rostership.
