Flex
While the winning Millionaire lineup flexed a running back, top-1% lineups flexed a wide receiver in 47% of lineups compared to 41% for the field. Through 14 weeks, top-1% lineups flex wide receivers more often than the field and use three running backs or two wide receivers at a slightly lower rate.
Leverage/Unique Builds
Teams that paid up for quarterback did so with Josh Allen (8.8%) or Patrick Mahomes (5.4%), making Lamar Jackson a salary pivot off of those quarterbacks while Justin Fields was in 20% of lineups at $6,800. Including Odell Beckham in the Ravens stack added another layer of uniqueness to the lineup with Isaiah Likely as the chalk tight end.
Christian McCaffrey and Alvin Kamara combined for 58%, making Austin Ekeler a great pay-up contrarian play.
With so many teams paying up for McCaffrey and Kamara, no other running back above $6,500 saw double-digit ownership. Racaad White’s mid-tier salary helped with an underused running back construction.

Since the start of 2019, this was only the third Sunday Million winner to roster four wide receivers with double-digit ownership—it was the first in that span to have three wide receivers at or above 19%. With that, it was also the third winner within that period without a running back at or above 10% ownership.

Leverage/Unique Builds
Playing a quarterback unstacked is always going to be a contrarian build, although bringing back Michael Pittman did add some level of correlation.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire projected for over 20% ownership, opening the door for James Cook to offer leverage as the opposing running back.
The Browns' defense projected for nearly 25% ownership, so any Jaguars player would offer leverage against the most volatile position in fantasy. Evan Engram doubled as a pivot off of similarly-priced David Njoku, who had an ownership projection over 10%.
