Newark Star Ledger: On a day when the team signed free-agent WR
Derek Hagan to aid a passing game lacking Plaxico Burress, the
Giants also dialed up wide receiver Joe Horn and invited him for a
visit, according to someone informed of the Giants' plans to meet
with the 13-year veteran. The person, who requested anonymity
because the Giants don't publicly confirm free-agent visits, said
Horn arrived in the area Tuesday night and will take a physical
Wednesday. The person also said it's unclear if he'll also be
asked to work out but said a signing could be imminent. Horn's
agent, Ralph Vitolo, declined comment when reached on his cell
phone late Tuesday night. Horn, 36, has been a free agent since
the Falcons released him on Aug. 19, after Horn requested a trade.
He spent one season with the Falcons after being cut by New
Orleans in March 2007. Horn, the Saints' all-time touchdown
leader, had 27 receptions for 243 yards and one touchdown with
Atlanta.
