Eli Manning tried to duck the media again Thursday by slipping in and out the back door of the cafeteria. But his plans were foiled when he was ushered around the front to sign footballs for a few VIPs.
But that was all he signed.
Manning's entry into the $100 million Quarterback Club was delayed again, as the Giants and Manning's agents continued to put the finishing touches on a six-year, $97.5 million extension that will net the quarterback $106.9 million over the next 7 years. A source familiar with the talks said there were no major issues and that a signing was still imminent.
Manning declined to comment on the deal. Giants GM Jerry Reese said only, "There's nothing to report."
