Kevin Smith Week 1 status "up in the air"

Lions RB Kevin Smith conveyed to reports on Saturday night that X-rays came back negative on his right ankle and he does not have a high ankle sprain. His status for Week 1 is still up in the air but more news to follow over these next couple days.

Fantasy Impact:

With Mikel LeShoure suspended for the first two weeks, it would likely be Keiland Williams getting the nod if Smith can't go. He could be worth a desperation start against the Rams in week 1.

Per Bears head coach Matt Eberflus: Ryan Bates remains in the concussion protocol. Elijah Hicks (ankle) and D'Andre Swift (groin) won't practice.

Teven Jenkins will be limited.

This is definitely a situation to keep an eye on, as Johnson would have a huge workload if Swift were to miss Week 12. Homer has three rush attempts and zero targets on the year.
