2013 is a new season and for Lions WR Nate Burleson, who is way ahead of schedule in his broken leg rehab. He is expected to be ready to roll come Week 1 vs. Minnesota.
"He's a quick healer, man," Lions QB Matt Stafford said of Burleson. "Really from Day 1 of OTAs (he) has come on and looked really good. He couldn't do the quantity as he can now. Now, he's full go all the time and is ready to go.
"He looks great and that's been a big plus for us having him healthy going into this offseason. It helps us keep our stride."
It's considered good news for a Lions offense which, if healthy, could possess one of the largest collections of offensive weapons in the NFL. Burleson is expected to be the Lions WR3 with Ryan Broyles the WR2. Burleson likely won't get drafted in standard leagues, but is just another WR to monitor once the season gets started. He could be an option in deeper leagues.
