The Houston Texans have placed running back Arian Foster on the physically unable to perform list a day before their first practice of training camp.
Foster strained his right calf early in organized team activities and didn't practice again, but the team said then that he should be ready for training camp.
It's too early to panic about Foster's Week 1 availability, but it would obviously be better if he were able to practice right now. He may miss a preseason game or two, but if he's not back for the third game (the game most teams use as a full warm up for the starters), then it will be time to worry. Ben Tate looks like a great handcuff for Foster owners.
