Lions rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew, a first-round draft pick, did not have one ball thrown to him Sunday. Pettigrew said he wasn't worried about his lack of involvement in the passing game and understands he needs to be patient as OC Scott Linehan works to get the run game going.
"The focus is on mixing it around and getting it to the open man," Pettigrew said. "There's a lot of plays for the tight end. But first things first. We're going to try to establish that run game. Scott, I know he wants to. Everybody else does, too."
The Lions had the third-worst rushing performance last week with only 33 yards. Pettigrew remains optimistic.
"I think we're a great team at running the ball," he said. "That didn't display how good we are. That was a bad day for us."
