Over the phone this week, Packers receiver Myles White ...

Over the phone this week, Packers receiver Myles White caught up with his position coach at Louisiana Tech, Rob Likens. And during that conversation, Likens detected a clear confidence.

This week, Green Bay promoted the undrafted rookie receiver from the practice squad over veterans on the street, veterans via trade. On Sunday, he'll likely be lining up as a slot receiver against the Cleveland Browns.

To date, nobody on the outside has seen White beyond the preseason. Likens believes White is ready.

“He knows that he can do this," said Likens, who's now the assistant head coach/outside receivers coach at California. "He knows that he belongs. One of the things we talked about was that he’s had the chance to see games, he’s had the chance to see how guys conduct themselves, how they prepare. He feels like he belongs and he’s good enough to do that.”

Fantasy Impact:

At Louisiana Tech, White caught 56 passes for 718 yards with six touchdowns last season. The transfer from Michigan State shared the wealth with Quinton Patton, who ended up getting drafted in the fourth round by San Francisco. White could see WR3 time this week if James Jones doesn't play. That would leave Jordy Nelson and Jarrett Boykin ahead of him. Jermichael Finley would likely see more targets and the Packers could run more with Eddie Lacy.
