Andre Brown, a fourth-round pick by the Giants in 2009,...

Andre Brown, a fourth-round pick by the Giants in 2009, will join newcomer Peyton Hillis, who has carried the load the past two weeks, veteran Brandon Jacobs and rookie Michael Cox in a crowded backfield. Wilson (neck) is scheduled to be re-evaluated early next week.

"Andre is definitely going to fit in," Giants running back coach Jerald Ingram said. "He’s very athletic. He catches the ball well out of the backfield. He can run the ball. He has good speed.

"He’s that multi-purpose back that can do a lot of things on first, second and third downs where the other two guys (Hillis and Jacobs) are big, strong, powerful, downhill guys."

Fantasy Impact:

As the story points out, once Brown is activated, the Giants will have to make a roster move. Among their options are releasing Jacobs or placing Wilson on injured reserve, ending his season. They could release another player as well. Brown is worth picking up if he's on your wire.
