North County Times: Ladainian Tomlinson carried the ball just 5
times for 25 yards and scored before leaving the game when
aggravating a groin injury in the 2nd quarter. "In pregame I just
got out there and was seeing how it was going to feel and what I
had to deal with during the game," he said. "The first run, it was
evident the burst - I just didn't have the burst. I really
couldn't put my foot in the ground and get through the holes like
I wanted to. "So I went as long as I could. It was evident after
that TD run that it was at that point I felt like I was making it
worse." So Tomlinson stepped aside, giving way to Darren Sproles
(105 yards, 2 scores) and Michael Bennett (24 yards). "It's a
decision you have to make because your pride gets in the way a lot
of time thinking you can do it," Tomlinson said. Tomlinson didn't
sound confident about playing next week. "I'm enjoying the ride,
but I'm worried about my health," he said. "Long term, I don't
have time to think about that. I'm not too concerned about that.
Short term, I'm very concerned. I don't know whats ahead of me in
the near future. It's going to be something we will have to wait
and see."
