Scouting report

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 @ Washington Commanders
Caleb Williams went into the bye week with his second straight 20+ point performance, though it's worth pointing out that they both came against defenses ranked in the bottom three of QB aFPA. Week 8's opponent should put up a little more of a fight, and if Jayden Daniels misses the game, the odds of a shootout drop precipitously. Consider Williams a low-end QB1 option.

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Caleb Williams broke out of his shell in Week 3, dropping back a wild 56 times to accrue 363 yards and two touchdown passes.
That production popped back up in Week 5, though on far fewer dropbacks, as he eclipsed 300 yards for the second time this season, and paired it with a nice 34 yards on the ground.

Week 6 sets up for a fantastic situation for more fantasy production prior to their bye, as the Jaguars rank dead last in QB aFPA.

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Carolina Panthers
Caleb Williams broke out of his shell in Week 3, dropping back a wild 56 times to accrue 363 yards and two touchdown passes, though he ran far less than the previous two weeks. He came back down to earth last week, attempting a lowly 23 passes for a methodical 11.5 fantasy points. The bad news for fantasy managers is; they won the game. If this dink-and-dunk offense persists, Williams is not going to be fantasy-viable. Keep him on your bench and eye the Jaguars game in Week 6, which could be a better game to target.

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Rams
Caleb Williams broke out of his shell in Week 3, dropping back a wild 56 times to accrue 363 yards and two touchdown passes, though he ran far less than the previous two weeks. Luckily there is no threat of his being benched, because he also added two more interceptions and a fumble. It took the team 90 (!!) offensive snaps to accrue 16 points, so things are clearly not clicking, due in part to a wonky offensive line and a run game stuck in the mud. Williams still offers a nice floor/ceiling combination against a Rams defense that has allowed the second-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points to the QB position. Consider him around the QB16 range for Week 4.

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 @ Indianapolis Colts
In what we believed to be a strong foundation around Caleb Williams, he has not looked great through two weeks, earning a 4.05 YPA mark with zero touchdowns and two interceptions. With Keenan Allen missing Week 3 in a gamescript that should see a lot of running, keep Williams on your bench.

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 @ Houston Texans
Caleb Williams has been placed into a far stronger position than we've seen from a lot of quarterbacks who come off the top of draft boards, namely, Bryce Young last season. Williams has the tools necessary to hit the ground running as a solid NFL and fantasy quarterback, with room to become much, much more. His supporting cast and an o-line that could work its way into becoming a league-average unit give him the opportunity to post QB1 weeks down the line, but his Week 1 performance should keep us off of him until the offense begins to gel.

CHI QB Caleb Williams - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Tennessee Titans
His supporting cast and an o-line that could work its way into becoming a league-average unit give him the opportunity to post QB1 weeks and could turn him into a top-15 option here in Week 1.
