Scouting report

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

Justin Fields had a solid outing last week, throwing for 223 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown. Fields has been providing a nice base this season with his rushing ability, finishing with at least 45 yards on the ground in all but two games so far. This week Fields will draw a tough matchup against the Browns (10th aFPA). Cleveland's defense has been a little more lenient in recent weeks due to injuries, but they're still a tough opponent. Fields is more around QB10 range for Week 15.

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Detroit Lions

Justin Fields had a tough outing in the Bears' last game. He didn't score a touchdown and lost two fumbles while throwing for 217 yards and rushing for 59 yards. Fields has now scored just one total touchdown in his last three starts. He'll look to bounce back this week in a favorable matchup vs. the Lions (30th aFPA). Fields played Detroit just a few weeks ago and he finished with 104 yards on the ground. We wouldn't expect another 100-yard rushing effort, but Fields should have a decent game as a runner again. Fields should be viewed as a top 10 option at QB in Week 14.

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Minnesota Vikings

Justin Fields looked more like his 2022 self last week against the Lions. He didn't accomplish much as a passer, throwing for 169 yards with a touchdown. But he had a monster game on the ground, rushing for 104 yards on 18 carries. Fields will look to carry that momentum into Week 12 against a good Vikings defense (11th aFPA). Fields played the Vikings earlier in the season, but left early due to an injury. However in the time he did play (35 snaps), he ran eight times for 46 yards. Fields should be viewed as a top 10 option at QB this week.

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Detroit Lions

Justin Fields is expected back as the Bears' starting QB this week after missing four games with a dislocated thumb. Before the injury, Fields was on a hot streak, throwing for eight touchdowns in his final two full games. In fact, despite four games, Fields still has more passing touchdowns this season than guys like Lamar Jackson, Trevor Lawrence and Derek Carr. Fields was also doing well as a runner, averaging 39.5 yards on the ground this year. Fields gets a favorable matchup in his return as he faces the Lions who are 25th in aFPA to QBs. Fields can be viewed near the top 10 range at QB in Week 11.

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Minnesota Vikings

Justin Fields has now logged back-to-back games with four passing touchdowns after another impressive performance in Week 5. In addition to the scores, Fields also finished with 282 pass yards and 57 rush yards. He's now had his first and fourth career high in pass yards in back-to-back weeks. Granted, he's faced favorable matchups, but this type of production is what people were expecting from Fields. This week he gets another favorable matchup against the Vikings who are 20th in aFPA to QBs. The Bears also could lean on Fields a little more as a runner this week since Khalil Herbert is out with an injury and Roschon Johnson is questionable. Fields should be viewed as a top five option at QB for Week 6.

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Washington Commanders

Justin Fields had his best game of the season last week as he threw for a career high 335 yards (his first time ever over 300) with four touchdowns. He also added 25 yards on four carries. Although Fields also turned the ball over twice (fumble, interception). This performance came against a bad Broncos defense, but it was still nice to see Fields take advantage of the opportunity. This week he faces a Commanders defense that has given up the 3rd-most rush yards to quarterbacks this season. It's a decent enough matchup for Fields, who can be viewed in the top 10 QB range for Week 5.

CHI QB Justin Fields - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Denver Broncos

Justin Fields had another disappointing outing in Week 3 as he finished with just 99 pass yards with one touchdown and interception. He did add 47 yards on a season-high 11 carries, though. Fields has scored at least one touchdown in every game this season, but he's also thrown at least one interception in every game. He's QB18 through three games, which is well below what many were projecting for him this season. The good news is this week he faces a Broncos defense that just gave up 70 points to the Dolphins last week. The Bears' offense is obviously nowhere near what Miami's is, but it's a good matchup for Fields. If he's unable to take advantage this week, then it may be time to hit the panic button on Fields in fantasy. As for now, though, this matchup makes Fields a top 10 QB option for Week 4.
