The Steelers will start Russell Wilson at quarterback Sunday against the Jets but both he and Justin Fields are expected to play.

Wilson is fully healthy from his preseason calf injury, so Fields was just keeping the seat warm until Wilson came back. Of note, if Fields plays 51 percent of the offensive snaps, the Steelers will send a 4th-round pick to the Bears instead of a 6th.

This could mean a better news for the Pittsburgh WRs as Wilson should throw the ball more vs. Fields escaping the pocket and running.

Other reports today have said Tomlin told reporters that Wilson will have a “strong work day” on Tuesday, and that Wilson’s practice participation will increase. Wilson, per Tomlin, likely will have a “live pocket,” according to the story.

Tomlin added that the team won’t give any consideration to changing quarterbacks until that changes and Wilson is able to do quality work with the team.
