Scouting report

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Miles Austin at Buffalo Bills
Miles Austin had his highest yardage output as a member of the Browns last Sunday in Atlanta, catching six passes for 64 yards. Austin can still come up with a clutch catch every now and then, but is a secondary target in the Cleveland offense behind Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron (when healthy), and Andrew Hawkins. That keeps Austin off the fantasy radar.

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Miles Austin at Atlanta Falcons
Uneventful stat lines are a regular occurrence with Miles Austin. The declining veteran caught three passes for 31 yards in last Sunday’s 23-7 loss to Houston. Austin’s importance will be greatly diminished by the return of Josh Gordon. His fantasy stock is pretty much non-existent.

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Miles Austin vs. Houston Texans
Once upon a time, Miles Austin was a home run threat for the Dallas Cowboys. Now, Austin is much more of a crafty player. His experience has been a plus for the Browns and Austin has given Cleveland a number of clutch catches, but with averages of 3.4 receptions and 43 yards per game with just two touchdowns, Miles must be disregarded by fantasy owners.

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Miles Austin at Cincinnati Bengals
Far removed from his Dallas glory days, Miles Austin is just another receiver on a team that lacks any semblance of a star, at least until Josh Gordon returns from suspension. Austin had three catches for 54 on Sunday as Cleveland defeated Tampa Bay. It was the fourth time this year Austin finished with 50-60 receiving yards. While that offers a dose of consistency, Austin has not visited the end zone since Week 3. There is no reason to ponder giving him a significant role on your squad.

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Miles Austin vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It was another unproductive day at the office for Miles Austin in Week 8. The veteran finished with two receptions for 34 yards. Even though he will be playing Tampa Bay's terrible pass defense, Austin is a below-average choice for desperate fantasy owners with bye week worries.

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Miles Austin vs. Oakland Raiders

Miles Austin managed three catches for 53 yards in week seven. That is pretty much in line with Austin’s average of 3.5 receptions and 41.8 yards per game. His last touchdown was back in week three. Miles has been a player in decline for a while and being part of Cleveland’s dysfunctional offense isn’t helping matters. He might look better than some of the players on the waiver wire, but that doesn’t mean you need to add him to your squad.

CLE WR Miles Austin - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Miles Austin at Jacksonville Jaguars

Miles Austin had just two catches for 29 yards in Cleveland’s rout of Pittsburgh and is averaging 39.6 receiving yards per game. He did catch two touchdown passes back in weeks two and three, but those seem like a distant memory. It might be tempting to take a flyer on Austin since he will be playing Jacksonville, but fantasy owners should not surrender to temptation.
