Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 16 Targets

Here we go! This is the final week in the vast majority of fantasy leagues, and hopefully that means you are competing for your league championship. Last week, Tyrod Taylor blew away the competition, scoring 27 fantasy points despite only being owned in half of all fantasy leagues. Let’s see if we can tap that sort of upside again this week.

In particular, I make note below of the safe options and the upside options in my picks, so that you can choose whatever your team needs.

For the year, our streaming QBs are averaging 16.7 fantasy points per week, finishing inside the top-twelve in roughly half their games. Remarkably, we have only had four single-digit performances after picking three streamers every week for fifteen weeks. Hopefully that safe floor has helped your team to succeed, as it has for many of mine.

Now, on to Week 16. As always, our primary focus will be on each quarterback’s fantasy points per attempt, because of how well that correlates with fantasy production, and on aFPA for the defenses they face. We will continue to use 60% ownership as our threshold, meaning that our streamers must be available in at least 40% of leagues, before waivers run for the week.

Week 16 QB Streaming Targets

Jameis Winston (TB) vs. Chicago Bears

Vegas projects Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers to do well this week at home against a weak Bears secondary, and this seems a strong place to take advantage of the rookie’s upside. The Bears rank 31st in aFPA to opposing QBs. Winston has not had even one week this year with fewer than 12 fantasy points, but he has also scored 18 or more points in half his games. Winston is a very intriguing option this week, and I’d roll with him if I was the underdog in need of extra QB points in Week 16.

Winston is available in 57% of Yahoo public leagues, and he is my optimal streamer of the week.
