Week 13 Results
It was a higher-scoring week across the league, but we got a few recommendations into the Top 12 last week.
Type | Player | FPTS | Rank |
---|---|---|---|
Top Play | Tua Tagovailoa | 17.9 | 11 |
Taylor Heinicke | 14.8 | 16 | |
Jimmy Garoppolo | 16 | 16 | |
Teddy Bridgewater | 12 | 20 | |
Taysom Hill | 20.7 | 6 | |
K.I.T. | Joe Burrow | 16.6 | 14 |
Like last week, I’m reviewing the recommendations through the lens of what we knew at the time. Of course, we want more points, but there’s always a balance in the amount of risk we’re willing to accept. Zach Wilson and Jared Goff are perfect examples. Wilson’s offensive line versus the Eagles’ defensive front couldn’t have looked worse on paper. Goff had crossed 250 yards just three times this season, and Detroit was 31st in pass rate over expectation (PROE). And yet, they’re in the Top 12. My process might not ever bring to plays like these, but I’ll admit, I missed one.
It might be hindsight bias, but Ben Roethlisberger should’ve been a deep play. Pittsburgh’s passing rate has been at or above the league average all season. Plus, Baltimore’s defense has been bottom-12 in EPA per dropback. His outing against Cincinnati was atrocious, but the Ravens haven’t been able to put up as much pressure on opposing quarterbacks. He’s on a short week but is a deeper option on the road against the Vikings (17.8 aFPA).
