O'Connell is undergoing additional testing to confirm the full severity, but it looks like the Raiders will have to turn to yet another QB this season. Next up should be Ridder, which probably doesn't do a lot to change the fantasy potential of this offense. There is likely to be big changes on the Raiders next season and QB could be one of them.

Raiders HC Antonio Pierce said he wouldn't name a starting QB moving forward.

The Raiders are fresh off firing some coaches to start the week, including their OC Luke Getsy. Pierce hasn't yet decided on a play caller, and so an announcement at QB may come after that decision. The Raiders have a bye in Week 10 so they will have some time to sort everything out. With O'Connell on IR, there isn't much reason to stick with Minshew, however the team just recently signed Ridder, so it's possible he gets a chance with the offense once the team is back in action in Week 11.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Raiders will sign Desmond Ridder off of Arizona’s practice squad. Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew are the only other quarterbacks on the active roster and they have rookie Carter Bradley on the practice squad.

The Raiders didn’t confirm that quarterback O’Connell will be placed on injured reserve with a fractured thumb on Monday, but they are making a roster move that makes it clear they are short of healthy quarterbacks this week, the story pointed out. Ridder is probably best left on wires in typical leagues, but of course in deeper two QB or superflex leagues, any quarterback is worth stashing away on your roster.
